  Informations / comparison automatic uncoupling systems

    Detailed information about boundary conditions: see end of page;

        Remark:
        Due to the reson we also cannot test all circumstances / do not know all boundary conditions:
        please let us know in case you have other experiences, that we can add these informations
        in below list - thank you

          GB2-8025     Massoth 8414002
(LGB-style like LGB Duo)
    LGB Duo

  Installation / compatiblity for following models:     Since introduction of the automatic uncoupler GB2-8025 all locomotives we got since that time could be converted with an uncoupling system.
In some cases the installation / mounting is easy; in other cases of course modifications are required

    Installation / mounting possible according list in opeartion manual of Massoth.     Originally only available in LGB item 2190 / 2390.
Instalaltion in different locomotive(s) requires significant modification

  Connection to MTS decoders     Can be connected to all MTS decoders having a servo interface or using a separate function decoder with servo interface     Can be connectet to all decoders with function output;
precondition: U+ power supply of the decoder can supply about 200mA (what is usually always the case)

    Additional electronic necessary in order to operat the motor in the gear box of the uncoupling

  Uncoupling with "jolted" cars                     Yes                     No

Motor and uncoupling loop are not flexible mounted to each other; therefor ein case train is jolted the loop cannot move and the hook cannot uncouple

                    Yes

Motor and uncoupling loop are not felxible mounted ; therefore even if the train is "jolted" after pulling backward the hook can slide out of the loop chamfer

  Uncoupling with "elongated" cars                      Yes

                    Yes

                    Yes

  Uncoupling uphill                     Yes                     Yes;

please refer also to operation manual of Massoth automatic uncoupler

                    Yes

  Uncoupling within small curves (1200 mm diameter)                     Yes                     Yes                     Yes

  Freilandtauglichleit
(Wintertauglichkeit)
                    Yes;

due to the reason that
- the servo can be mounted inside
- if the servo is mounted inside
the loco the electronic parts can be protected

the uncoupling os only available since mid of september 2012; long time experience is not available up to now;

furthermore: please refer also to operation manual of Massoth automatic uncoupler

                    Yes;

reason: motor is placed in gearbox inside loco and therefore protected;

at least the customized LGB 2062from 2002 we are running since that time never had a problem

  Uncoupling of standard smooth-running LGB 2-axle cars                     Yes

                    No

[the hook does not slide out on the chamfer, becasue car is to smooth-running and force is not enough to let hook slide out

                Yes
